Giants Roundup: Brian McCann?

  • Big Brother is lurking: fans will no longer be able to bring anti-Bonds signs to the ballpark. Major League Baseball is “carefully screening” signs that are brought into their stadiums. Up next, no booing allowed. [Deadspin]
  • Despite our bias, we strongly think Bengie Molina–not Atlanta’s Brian McCann–deserves to be at the All-Star game: “McCann and Molina entered Sunday’s game with identical home run and RBI totals (seven and 41), but Molina was hitting 25 points higher. Molina was ahead of McCann in the fan voting, but he wasn’t one of the four position players named…” More on the All-Star game later. [SFGate]
  • Jay Mariotti, outrage, steroids, Bonds, Selig, blah blah. [Chicago Sun-Times]
  • Why are you a Giants fan? Don’t say Joel Youngblood. That’s our answer. [McCovey Chronicles]
  • Everyone’s hopping on the A-Rod to San Francisco bandwagon. [With Leather]
  • In case you missed it, a homeless(ish) fan entered the field and approached Barry Bonds during Friday’s home game. The guy shook Bonds’ hand, but afterwards, Bonds called for more security. We’re still trying to figure out a homeless man could afford to get into Pac Bell. He certainly didn’t have any $10 beers. [Yahoo!]
